Description

A letter from an unknown author to R.A. Hadden in South Pasadena, California. 4 September 1914. A typed, 2 page letter in response to a letter (object number 2017.41.1.609) requesting information on North Whittier Heights. There is one property the author would be willing to trade for the bungalow. There is 636 acres of 1 year old orange groves, prices at $1100 per acre. There is about $2200 in equity and the balance due to be paid over 5 years on easy terms. There is also a 612 acre, 2 year old lemon and orange grove, costing $1250 an acre with an equity of $3500. Again, with the balance due in 5 years and on easy terms. The properties are high class citrus land, and although he would make more money keeping the land, he is in need of a house. Both pages have holes in the top left corner from a straight pin and discoloration on the top and right side. Page 1 (a), also has creases on the bottom left corner. Page 2 (b), also has folds in the bottom left and top right corner, and damage on the top right. This object is in fair condition overall.
