Description
A letter from an unknown author to Sidney E. Kousseve in New Orleans, Louisiana. 30 July 1914.
A typed letter draft in response to a letter (object number 2017.41.1.554) asking for information on North Whittier Heights. A descriptive folder was mailed under a separate cover letter. Unplanted land has been divided into 5 to 50 acre tracts and cost $400 to $800 per acre. Several acres were planted to oranges, lemons, grapefruit, and walnuts. This land has been divided into 5, 10, 15 and 20 acre tracts and cost $700 to $1025 per acre. With the completion of Turnbull Canyon Road and a modern townsite, the demand for and value of North Whittier Heights will go up. Many successful citrus growers have invested in North Whittier Heights. The author then provides a list of people who have bought land. The author closes with an invitation for Mr. Kousseve to come see the property, should he be in Los Angeles, with no obligation to buy. There are corrections throughout in pencil.
The pages have been glued together across the top, holes in the top left corner from a straight pin, and there is discoloration on the right side. This object is in good condition overall.
