Description
A letter from an unknown author to the Cross Land Company. 12 March 1915. The author states that a check of $48.87 has been enclosed with this letter. The check covers 6 months' interest on the 3 acre lot that the author purchased from Harry Schoenborn and sold to Mrs. S.A. Buckley. The author claims that his payment is late because he did not receive notice of the interest being due, and also because of confusion over whether he or Mrs. Buckley would pay the interest. The author mentions an item of taxes for the year of 1913 that was included in Mrs. Buckley's statement. The author states that he has already paid the tax, and that if a tax receipt is presented to the collector, the amount will be refunded. The author alludes to his previous visit to the Cross Land Company office, specifying that his contract was taken by Mr. Schoenborn along with notation of the assignement, and that he, the author, made an interest payment on the same date. Some text in the second and third paragraphs of the document has become smudged. There is a crease from the lower right side to the bottom. The object is in good condition overall.
