Description

A letter from an unknown author to Thomas C. Brown in Rivera, California. 12 August 1914. A typed, 2 page letter in response to a letter (object number 2017.41.1.475) requesting information on North Whittier Heights citrus and walnut land. A descriptive folder was mailed under a separate cover letter. Unplanted land has been divided into 5 to 50 acre tracts and cost $400 to $800 an acre. Also, many acres have been planted to oranges, lemons, grapefruit and walnuts. This land has been divided into 5, 10, 15, and 20 acre tracts and are being sold for $700 to $1025 per acre. With the completion of Turnbull Canyon Road and new townsite, the value of and demand for North Whittier Heights will go up. Many successful citrus men have invested into North Whittier Heights which shows the merit of the land. The is then a list of people who have bought into the property, with a suggestion that Mr. Brown contact them regarding the merit of the land and reputation of the company. The letter is closed with an invitation out to the property, with no obligation to buy. The pages are glued together in the top left corner, crease in the bottom right corner, and discoloration on the top, bottom and right side. Page 2 also has a small tear and damage on the left edge. This object is in good condition overall.
