Description

A letter from an unknown author to W.H. Crook in Whittier, California. 10 November 1916. The abbreviation "GTR:MG" near the signature line may refer to Grover T. Russell. The author states that he has been unable to find a receipt for the second half of his taxes on lot 3, tract 2489, which is now owned by N.T. Edwards. The author explains that he will instead enclose a cancelled check with this letter showing a sum of $45.68 for the taxes on lot 3 in tract 2489, and lots 39 and 51 in tract 2421. The author offers to get a statement from the tax collector, W.O. Welch, at Mr. Edwards' request. With minor acid burns, the object is in good condition overall.
