Description

A letter from an unknown author to Will McMurray in Laramie, Wyoming. 2 January 1914. A typed, 2 page letter regarding the cost and profit of land in the North Whittier Heights subdivision. The author is sending, in a separate letter, the cost of buying 5 acres of planted groves as well as a statement of production and value of groves in the area at different ages. The author has taken Lot 63, which has been planted to Valencia Oranges, off the market until he hears back from Mr. McMurray. If he would like 5 acres of lemons as well, then the author would recommend Lot 80, which joins Lot 63 on the south. Both Lot 63 and Lot 80 are 5.227 acres in size instead of 5 acres, so the cost will be a little more than quoted. The author then writes, that if Mr. McMurray wishes to buy, but contract with Whittier Extension Company to care for the property, then he will personally see that the groves receive the best care. There is a postscript that a new contract blank, which they are now using in sale of property, has been enclosed. The author asks Mr. McMurray to contact the author should he have any questions regarding conditions of contract. The two pages (a and b) have been glued together across the top, have crease in the bottom right corner, and discoloration on the right side. Page 1 also has soiling in the top right corner. This object is in good condition overall.
