Description

A letter from an unknown author to Wm. S. Emery in New York City, New York. 3 August 1916. A two page, typed document. The author states that he is replying to Mr. Emery in Edwin G. Hart's stead, as Mr. Hart is currently at a military training camp in Monterey. The author discusses the soil, wind, and frost conditions of a 23.6 acre avocado property at North Whittier Heights, as he believes that Mr. Emery was referring to this property in his letter (Object ID: 2017.41.1.1156). The author suggests that Mr. Emery can learn about the merits of the subdivision by writing to the Whittier Chamber of Commerce. The author prices the 23.6 acre property at $12,500 and offers to provide more information at Mr. Emery's request. With adhesive in the top left corner which is holding the document together, rust and ink stains, minor foxing, minor tears, and minor acid burns, the object is in good condition overall.
