Description

A letter from C.A. Black in Ogden, Utah to Geo. E. Pexton in Los Angeles, California. 5 December 1914. A carbon copy letter on letterhead from the Union Pacific Railroad Company. The letter is trying to sale a 70 acre plot of land, which includes 11 acres of a 4 year old lemon grove and 105 shares of water from the La Habra river, which is enough to water the entire property. The cost is $28,000 with 1/2 due as a down payment. The lemons should pay 6% on the investment and could one day be worth $100,000. Mr. Black closes the letter by suggesting Mr. Pexton send lemon juice to Wyoming when prohibition hits that state. The bottom is a note to Mr. Russell to inform him that Mr. Pexton is a Prominent Wyoming man and getting him to buy could mean more buys from Wyoming. There are creases from the letter being folded, holes in the top left corner from a straight pin, discoloration on the right side and the back has abrasion damage and soiling along the folds. This object is in fair condition overall.
