Description
A letter (a) and envelope (b) from Rev. Edward F. Temple to John H. Temple, 12 January 1899. Pages three through six of this letter had been in loose documents (arranged as Loose Documents 5) in this accession. The letter concerns family members with updates on John Temple's relations in the East Coast, as well as Edward's attempts to find Temples elsewhere. Edward Temple was compiling genealogical material left from a William Temple's ca. 1835 manuscript, but died eighteen days after this letter, on 30 January 1899, as the updated manuscript was readied for printing. Levi Daniel Temple then completed the work, issued as "Some Temple Pedigrees" in 1900.
