Description
A letter from Edwin G. Hart to H.L. Johnson in Redondo Beach, California. 4 September 1914.
A typed, 2 page letter in response to a postcard (object number 2017.41.1.606) requesting information on North Whittier Heights. A descriptive folder was mailed under a separate cover letter. Unplanted land has been divided into 5 to 50 acres and can be bought at $400 to $800 per acre. Several acres have been planted to oranges, lemons, grapefruit, and walnuts. This land have been divided into 5, 10, 15, and 20 acres and is being sold at $700 to $1025 per acre. With the completion of Turnbull Canyon Road and the townsite, the demand for and value of North Whittier Heights is going to increase. Some of the most successful citrus men have invested in the property which shows the merit of the land. The author then lists people who have bought land, giving Mr. Johnson the opportunity to contact them regarding the merit of land or reputation of company. The letter is closed with an invitation to go out to North Whittier Heights and see the land for himself.
The pages (a and b) have discoloration on the right side. Page 1 has an acid burn on the bottom. Page 2 has creases on the left side. This object is in good condition overall.
