Description

A letter from Edwin G. Hart to M.F. Gross in Brea, California. 31 August 1914. A typed, 2 page letter in response to a postcard (object number 2017.41.1.587) requesting information for North Whittier Heights. A descriptive folder will be mailed under a separate cover letter. Unplanted land has been divided into tracts of 5 to 50 acres and costs $400 to $800 per acre. Several acres have also been planted to oranges, lemons, grapefruit, and walnuts. This land has been divided into 5, 10, 15, and 20 acre tracts and cost $700 to $1025 per acre. With the completion of the Turnbull Canyon Road and townsite, the demand for and value of land in North Whittier Heights will increase. Some of the most successful citrus men have invested in North Whittier Heights, which shows the merit of the land. Mr. Hart then lists people who have bought land, giving Mr. Gross the ability to ask them about the merit of land and reputation on the company. The letter is closed with an invitation to see the property. The pages have been glued together in the top left corner, and discoloration on all sides. This object is in good condition overall.
