Description
A letter from Francis W. Temple to Antonia Margarita Workman de Temple, 17 May 1876. The brief note, from La Puente, states "Dear Mother, Grandfather has shot himself this afternoon. Come at once." William Workman committed suicide that day after a receiver was sent by a judge as part of the proceedings following the collapse of the Temple and Workman bank. With folds, ink smudges and stains, and creases, the condition is fair.
