Description

A letter from Geo. P. Black in Evansville, Indiana to Edwin G. Hart in Los Angeles, California. 10 October 1918. Mr. Black explains that he has been drafted and will likely end up serving in the war (World War I). Consequently, Mr. Black would like to sell his 7.6 acre property, Lot 29 at Orchardale in the Whittier district, so that the property does not become a burden to his wife. Mr. Black states that he has enclosed a clipping from D.A. Mizener's advertising pamphlet (Object ID: 2017.41.1.1484) which contains information about the lot. Mr. Black states that he wants $6,500 for the property, of which he wants 1/3rd down and the balance paid off with 6% interest. Mr. Black asks Mr. Russell to respond and specify whether he will handle the property for a $500 commission. With creases, minor acid burns, pin holes, minor foxing, and rust stains, the object is in good condition overall.
