Description

A letter from George Bemshad to Mr. Hamilton of the Board of Supervisors in Los Angeles, California. 22 July 1916. A typed letter on a letterhead for the Whittier Extension Company in Los Angeles, California. Mr. Bemshad asks that the board solve the water drainage issues on North Whittier boulevard near the Salt Lake Railway. Mr. Bemshad states that he owns 40 acres of property in the North Whittier Heights tract and that the lower portions of his land tend to become flooded by storm and surplus irrigation waters. Mr. Bernshad is concerned about accumulated waters on his land that have not been cleared out and the potential damage from further accumulation; thus, he insists that the County Road Department should address this issue before the upcoming rainy season. With a minor acid burn and early signs of foxing, the object is in good condition overall.
