Description

A letter from Grover T. Russell in Whittier, California to Henry L. Stambach in Puente, California. 21 July 1920. A typed letter on a letterhead for Russell & Maple. In response to Mr. Stambach's earlier letter (Object ID: 2017.41.1.1568), Mr. Russell states that he and Mr. Maple did not sell Mr. Stambach's Valencia orchard at North Whittier Heights because they believed he had taken the property off the market. Mr. Russell explains that, if Mr. Stambach would like to list the property with them on the same terms as provided in his listing blank from March 12, 1920, then he can simply O.K. this letter and return it. Mr. Russell recounts that the March listing blank priced the property at $18,305. In the case of a sale, $12,230 was expected to be received in cash with the balance at 7% interest, and a commission of 5% would be provided. With creases, minor acid burns, minor foxing, rust stains, and minor discoloration, the object is in good condition overall.
