Description

A letter from H.M. Jordan in Whittier, California to Grover T. Russell. 12 May 1914. A written letter on letter head from The Jordan Citrus Nurseries. The letter is in response to a letter (object number 2017.41.1.494) regarding the sale of trees to Mr. Ortega. Mr. Ortega called H.M. Jordan to see if the trees for his lot were paid for. Mr. Jordan informed him that Mr. Finch bought the trees from Dishway. Mr. Ortega then asked if Mr. Jordan thought if Dishway would lower the price if paid for in cash and Mr. Jordan told him he to check with Dishway. The company name and product is found in the top center. It reads "Nurseries located in North Whittier / The Jordan Citrus Nurseries / H.M. Jordan, Proprietor / Orange and Lemon trees exclusively / Buds selected from best orchards in East Whittier / Whittier, California." The top left give a phone number of Home 4614 and the top right states that seed bed stock is for sale. There are creases from the letter being folded, a fold in the top left corner, stains in the bottom right corner, discoloration on the right side, and abrasion damage along the folds both front and back. This object is in good condition overall.
