2012.396.1.1Description
A letter from J. M. C. Marble to Richard Smith, 2 April 1890. Written on the letterhead of The National Bank of California at Los Angeles by its president, the letter is hard to read because of the handwriting style. Marble spoke of the recent incorporation of the company, He does talk about some negative business news, but the difficulty in reading makes it hard to figure out what he wrote. There is also mention of Marble's son, John, Jr., attending school at Ann Arbor, presumably the University of Michigan. With folds, a few creases, and some light soiling, the overall condition is good.
