Description
A letter from J.H. Vickrey in Pasadena, California to Edwin G. Hart. 1 November 1913.
A written, 2 page letter, where J.H. Vickrey requests a descriptive folder and map of Southern California. Mr. Vickrey is new to the area and not sure if he will like the country, so he is asking to rent land instead of purchasing. He would like land that he can raise chickens for a short time and maybe grow oranges. Mr. Vickrey would like a tract not in town, but also not to far away from market. He would also like the company to build him a home and perform necessary improvements and allow him to pay out monthly like paying rent.
Both pages have holes in the top left corner from a straight pin rust damage in the top left corner from a straight pin, feathering along the top as if torn from a note pad, and heavy creases from being folded. Page 1 (a) also has a brown spot on the left side, and the back has abrasion damage along the folds. Page 2 (b) also has soiling on the right side and bottom right corner. This object is in good condition overall.
