Description

A letter from J.W. Hargrave, Cashier of the First National Bank of Yorba Linda in Yorba Linda, California to Grover T. Russell in Whittier, California. 31 January 1920. A two page, typed letter on a letterhead for the First National Bank of Yorba Linda. In reply to Mr. Russell, Mr. Hargrave states that he has applied for commission as a real estate broker, and that he would like for Mr. Russell to handle a few properties. Mr. Hargrave states that he has enclosed copies of listings for two lemon groves, and also discusses Mr. Holloway's ranch and a 9.14 acre avocado ranch belonging to Dr. Keller, both of which are part of the General Petroleum Yorba Linda lease. Mr. Hargrave explains that Dr. Keller has priced his ranch at $7,000 per acre and would either like to sell 5 acres, or sell the whole property while retaining a half interest in its oil rights. Mr. Hargrave notes that Dr. Keller does not want to pay a full commission. Mr. Hargrave states that he will contact Mr. Russell again once he receives his real estate agent certificate. With creases, minor foxing, minor discoloration, and a small missing piece, the object is in good condition overall.
