Description

A letter from Dr. J.W. Smith in Dayton, Ohio to Edwin G. Hart in Los Angeles, California. 8 December 1913. A written, 2 page letter, on letter head from Dr. J.D. Smith. Dr. Smith received a descriptive folder of North Whittier Heights from his brother. Dr. Smith would like information regarding the profitability of citrus fruit, cost of cultivation and care of groves. He would like information of the planting and care of the land that Edwin Hart will give. What is the arrangement for irrigation and what guarantee is there for always having water. If Dr. Smith buys property it would be for investment only, as he does not intend to live on the property and would like to know what income to expect. The pages (a and b) are glued together in the top left corner, heavy creases from the letter being folded, the glue from the note pad, at the top of the page, has turned black, and the back has abrasion damage along the folds and an acid burn in the bottom right corner. This object is in good condition overall.
