Description
A letter from John H. Bancroft to F.P.F. Temple, 2 August 1856. The missive from Temple's brother-in-law (married to sister Clarfnda) concerns a request of F.P.F. for fruit stones, garden and flour seeds from a Hovey & Co. catalog and a book on rich men of Massachusetts to be sent by Wells, Fargo and Company by steamer. Bancroft informed Temple that the box was sent with his compliments on 5 December 1855, but had not heard if it arrived, so he requested confirmation either way. With stains, a small tear at the top right corner, creases, minor discoloration, and some wear, the condition is fair.
