Description

A letter from John H. Bancroft to F.P.F. Temple, 2 March 1858. The missive acknowledged Temple's letter of 20 January and expressed happiness that books sent out were received, mentioned the recent visit of Jonathan, F.P.F.'s half-brother, before leaving for New York to join their daughter Francisca de Ajuria and her family, and then travel to Paris, hoped to see F.P.F. and Antonia Margarita Workman de Temple, mentioned the poor economy (a depression broke out in 1857), and asked what papers and periodicals F.P.F. would like. With creases, a few stains and light discoloration, the condition is good.
