Description

A letter from L. Brooks in San Bernardino, California to Edwin G. Hart in Los Angeles, California. 1 March 1914. A written letter regarding citrus lands in Whittier, California. L. Brooks requests a folder for the citrus land that Edwin G. Hart has for sale. Mr. Brooks would like land suitable for the avocado and wants to know if anyone has tried growing them in North Whittier Heights. Mr. Brooks would also like to know if Mr. Hart would consider the exchange of lots, 17 minutes from 6th and Main, for 5 or 10 acres of land, or take them partly in exchange. Mr. Brooks asks for a quick response, as he wishes to plant to trees in the spring. There is a note on the bottom in pencil. Mr. Hart says that no one has planted avocados. They are however, planting land from good stock that Mr. Brooks may be interested in. There are creases from the letter being folded, holes in the top left corner from a straight pin, creases in the top right and bottom left, and abrasion damage on the back along the folds. This object is in good condition overall.
