A letter from Michael F. Quinn to William Workman, 8 June 1870. The missive, from the El Monte resident and county highway supervisor, concerned the "La Puente and San Jose Road," which is now Valley Boulevard and a proposed "Mud Springs Road," to modern San Dimas that Workman was against because of injury to his land. Quinn informed Workman that a new alignment to the former, with trees and fencing on both sides, was acceptable to the County Board of Supervisors and that the latter might be closed. Reference was also made to Workman's plan for an artesian well. With folds, light staining, a minor tear, a hole, minor edge wear, and moderate soiling, the condition is good.Lexicon
