Description
A letter from Nettie Friend de Temple to Walter P. Temple, 25 April 1906. The missive stated that Nettie, widow of Walter's oldest brother Thomas, survived the San Francisco earthquake and fire of a week prior with only the clothes she had on. She expressed pleasure that he was married and wrote she did not know who he married, though she wrote to his wife Laura González in the early 1890s (see earlier items in this accession group.) She mentioned Lucinda and Charles Temple, Walter's siblings as well, and ended that she was not quite herself because of the quake and fire and her losses. With folds, creases, some edge tears, a small stain on the reverse and light soiling, the condition is good.
