Description

A letter from Ralph E. Smith to Mr. Maple. 17 September 1921. A two page, handwritten letter on a letterhead for the Agricultural Experiment Station at the University of California, Berkeley. Mr. Smith urges Mr. Maple to put his best effort toward selling his walnut orchard and states that it is not being handled by any other agent. Mr. Smith asserts that he is selling the orchard for a price that will net him almost no profit, and that, ideally, he would like the sale to happen within the next few weeks. Mr. Smith specifies that he will not accept any exchange propositions and that the property's $15,000 mortgage at 7% is due on August 28th, 1922. With creases, minor acid burns, early signs of foxing, pin holes, and minor discoloration, the object is in good condition overall.
