Description

A letter from Ross Oscillating Pump Company, Los Angeles to George F. Carruthers, Winnipeg, Canada, 22 May 1907. The letterhead has a vignette of a company pump, as well as officers' names and titles, address, and telephone numbers at the top. The typed missive is a colorful pitch for investment in the companym describing the company as "this Napoleon of Pumpdom" and makes promises for guaranteed returns on a stock investment for life. Notably the Panic of 1907 broke out in New York in October. Printed signatures for the president and secretary are at the end of the letter. With major damp staining, original folds and light soiling, the condition is fair.
