Description

A letter from Russell & Maple to Ralph E. Smith in Berkeley, California. 12 October 1921. A two page, typed letter. The abbreviation "GTR:DH" near the signature line may refer to Grover T. Russell. In response to an earlier letter, Mr. Russell and Mr. Maple address several of Mr. Smith's concerns regarding the sale of his walnut property. Firstly, Mr. Russell and Mr. Maple explain that they sold the property on terms which Mr. Smith had specified earlier in the year. Mr. Russell and Mr. Maple then discuss the property's taxes, interest payments, and the location of its middle pipe line. Lastly, Mr. Russell and Mr. Maple state that they will have to split their commission with another party who furnished them with the prospective buyer, and that the money will help their firm endure the current state of the real estate market. With severe discoloration; minor tears; two stains; smudged and faded text; and brittleness caused by the acidity of its paper material, the object is in fair to poor condition overall.
