Description

A letter from S.B. Guthrie in La Habra, California to Mr. Maple in Whittier, California. 2 November 1919. In response to Mr. Maple's earlier letter, Mr. Guthrie states that two or three parties have inquired about whether he is going to sell an eastern piece of his property; thus, Mr. Guthrie states that he will to sell 10 acres to the first person who agrees to pay $1,500 per acre and give half of the cash down. Mr. Guthrie explains that the soil is suitable for oranges, lemons, and walnuts, and that he will soon add any preparation costs for winter onto the price. Mr. Guthrie asserts that the property is a worthwhile investment and that the land could soon gain attention from oil companies. In a postscript, Mr. Guthrie states that the property has never been handled by his own real estate firm. With creases, a hole, minor discoloration, minor foxing, a small piece missing, abrasion damage, and severe acid burns, the object is in fair condition overall.
