Description
A letter from the Belmont Hotel, Los Angeles, 22 October 1886. The missive, to the sender's wife and son, concerns his stay because of health reasons, possibly tuberculosis based on remarks made in it. The stationery has a rendering of the building on the reverse as well as the name and other info, though the hostelry, in the Crown Hill section west of downown, was consumed in a fire the following year. With original folds, creases and light soiling, the condition is good.
