Description

A letter from the Whittier Extension Company to Harry Woodward in Sunnyvale, California. 20 February 1918. The abbreviation "GTR/BR" near the signature line may refer to Grover T. Russell. Additional text refers to the sales manager of the Whittier Extension Company. The author states that he was contacted by the recipient's cousin, who claimed that Mr. Woodward was interested in selling his 10 acre orange orchard in Rialto and his cherry orchard in Sunnyvale. The author is most likely referring to another letter from the HM Collection (Object ID: 2017.41.1.1435). The author explains that his firm cannot handle Mr. Woodward's orchard in Sunnyvale as it is outside of his firm's operational territory. However, the author states that his firm might be able to exchange Mr. Woodward's Rialto property for a Los Angeles property. The author asks that Mr. Woodward send a description of the property if he desires to make an exchange of that kind. The author also notes that his firm will expect a 5% commission for services rendered. With pin holes, minor tears, and minor acid burns, the object is in good condition overall.
