Description

A draft letter from the Whittier Extension Company to P.J. Weisel in Anaheim, California, 22 May 1913. A descriptive folder of North Whittier Heights is being sent to Mr. Weisel, which includes a map of Southern California showing the location of the property and a map showing the subdivided plots. Land has been divided into 5 to 50 acre tracts with 100 acres for a townsite, 400 acres of rough land, and 1300 acres for orchards which costs $500 to $900 an acre with cheaper land requiring leveling. The owners will plant trees for an additional $175 an acre. Loan terms, possible income, and improvements are given. The top, in pencil, is labeled "Letter 'B'," gives the name and address of two other people who received this letter and corrections are made throughout. With creases, discoloration, wear, water damage, and the pages glued together at the top, the object is in good overall condition.
