Description
A letter from Aaron Pollard to William Workman, 15 July 1854. The missive concerns the prosecution of the land claim for the lands of the Mission San Gabriel, granted to Reid and Workman by Governor Pio Pico in June 1846 including lawyer Volney Howard representing Pollard, Workman and Elisha O. Crosby with a quarter share as payment. The claim was rejected by the United States Supreme Court in April 1864 on the grounds that Pico had no authority to make the grant. With some creases and slight discoloration, the condition is good.
