Description
A letter from W.S. Emery in New York City, New York to the Whittier Extension Company in Los Angeles, California. 13 July 1916. A typed letter on a letterhead for William S. Emery, manufacturer and wholesaler of Plumbers' Woodwork. Mr. Emery states that he would like to purchase either a planted avocado orchard or an unplanted property with rich loam that can be planted to avocados. Mr. Emery asks for the Whittier Extension Company to specify any properties they have which fit these categories. Mr. Emery also states that he will need expert advice and counsel in order to carry out this project. In a handwritten postscript, Mr. Emery asks whether the company has any knowledge of the "Harman" variety and whether he should plant them. With a minor acid burn, two rust stains, holes, creases, and minor foxing, the object is in good condition overall.
