Description
A letter from W.W. Black at the Hotel Hayward in Los Angeles, California to C.E. Seares in Whittier, California. 26 January 1920. A typed letter on a letterhead for the Hotel Hayward. Mr. Black asks whether Mr. Seares would like to buy 57 acres of his 108 acre property in the Montebello Oil Field including oil rights. Mr. Black asserts that the value of the land may soon increase drastically due to oil development; however, he has priced the property at $1,000 per acre since his age and other conditions have made him desire an immediate cash sale of at least $5,000 with no mortgage. Mr. Black goes on to state that the land is currently planted to alfalfa, and provides his current room number at the Hotel Hayward. With creases, a minor tear, minor acid burns, minor discoloration, and minor foxing, the object is in good condition overall.
