Description

A letter from W.W. Black in Los Angeles, California to Lloyd W. Gregg in Lankershim, California. 7 February 1920. Mr. Black asks whether Mr. Gregg would be interested in buying 57 acres of his 108 acre ranch in the Montebello oil field. Mr. Black explains that the value of the land may soon increase drastically, but that he has priced it at $750 per acre due to personal circumstances. Mr. Black also offers to sell his tracts on First Street, which range from $750 to $2,000 per acre. Mr. Black specifies that a buyer will get half of the oil royalty for whichever land he purchases. Mr. Black states that, although all of the land is leased to an oil company, he may be willing to sell without the lease for a higher price. Mr. Black provides his room number at the Hotel Hayward and encourages Mr. Gregg to consider making a purchase. With minor acid burns, wrinkling, two folds, signs of silverfish damage, minor yellowing, minor tears, creases, and minor foxing, the object is in good condition overall.
