Description
A draft letter from Whittier Extension Company to Anna Taylor in Oilfields, California, 9 June 1913. Responding to Ms. Taylor's request (object number 2017.41.1.100) a descriptive folder of North Whittier Heights is being sent, which includes a map of Southern California showing the location of the property and a map showing the subdivided plots. Land has been divided into 5 to 50 acre tracts with 100 acres for a townsite, 400 acres of foothills and 1300 acres of orchard land which cost $500 to $900 an acre with cheaper land needing leveling before planting. Loan terms are given and improvements to roads and the water system are mentioned. There are corrections throughout this letter and at the top of the page is a list of names with address. With holes from a straight pin and discoloration, the object is in good overall condition.
