Description

A photograph of a Los Angeles house, ca. 1920s. The home is a melding of Mission Revival, Greek Revival and Spanish Colonial Revival styles and in view is the front facade, including a lawn and landscaping. On the reverse is the stamp of architect A. Lawrence Valk. Arthur Lawrence Valk was the son of noted architect Lawrence B. Valk, best known for his design of churches in New York City and other places. Lawrence Valk was in San Gabriel by 1900 and his son joined him in 1904. The younger Valk was known for designing movie theaters in Los Angeles. With small edge and corner tears, a few small creases, and some light soiling, the overall condition is good.
