Description

A memorandum of agreement between Henry Hancock and Gabriel Allen for the San Antonio portion of Rancho Rodeo de las Aguas, ca. 1862. The contract, penned by Hancock and signed by him and Allen, specifies that Allen would pay $8,000 over two years at 12% interest per year. In 1862, William Workman won an action of foreclosure for this tract against Hancock and took possession, appearing to have held it until the end of the decade before it was sold. With creases, stains, edge tears and soiling, the condition is fair.
