Description

A Metropolitan Bank and Trust Company check of Walter P. Temple, 30 January 1908. It is made out to Peter M. Davis for $12 with Davis's signature on the reverse, along with that of Giovanni Piuma, lessee of the Temple Homestead buildings for his winery, and stamps for the First National and Merchants National banks of Los Angeles. Davis was a long-time neighbor and friend of Temple and later did work at the Homestead and lived in the Workman House when Temple owned it. With dogeared corners, folds, browning and a stain, the condition is fair.
