Description
A mortgage document from Robert Richmond to Lorenzo D. Gavitt, Los Angeles County, 6 May 1874. The item pertains to 20 acres in what appears to be the Verdugo Mountains near Glendale, initially claimed under preemption in 1864 by William Moore (see item .1 of the accession.) On the reverse is a note that the mortgage was satisfied by signature of assignees F. P. F. Temple and Ozro W. Childs, dated 14 November 1874. The item appears to have been disbound from a title insurance company title book and has some stains, holes from the binding clips, soiling and edge rubbing, but is in good overall condition.
