A negative of the belfry at Mission San Gabriel, ca. 1910s. The vertical image shows the belfry at the west end of the old stone church and there is a sign indicating the founding of the mission in 1771 [though the first was location was at Whittier Narrows until 1774-75.) Taken from Mission Drive, the view shows some palm trees and a portion of the long three-tiered grandstand used for Pacific Electric Railway trolley tours that stopped at the mission. The image appears to be in good condition.
