Description

A negative of Venable's Richfield Service Station, San Fernando, ca. late 1920s. The image shows a man putting fuel in the car in the bay of the two-pump station, which also has an office and, perhaps, a repair area. The name "Venable's Service" is on the front facie of the bay canopy and references to the Richfield brand are on one side. The man may be proprietor Max Venable, born at Redondo Beach in 1895, and who operated the service station by at least the 1930 census and continued to operate it for at least another decade. The condition appears to be good.
