Description

A notice (a) and envelope (b) from the Bricklayers' International Union No. 2 of California, Los Angeles, 5 November 1902. Sent to other union members, with the envelope addressed to Newark, Ohio, the short statement notified that "Los Angeles is overrun with Bricklayers, and would advise you not to come here this winter, as there is not enough work to go around." The names of the president and secretary of the local are printed as well as the location, date, address and union name. The envelope is heavily soiled, creases and stained, while the notice has folds, a few fingerprint marks, creasing and some soiling, so the overall condition is good.
