Description

A package wrapper from J. W. Robinson and Company's "Boston Dry Goods Store", Los Angeles, ca. 1880s. The item is mounted inside a paper matte and has not been removed for examination. The printing on the item has the Robinson name, the store name and addresses for the retail store and the warehouse. The business, which was a general mercantile establishment, later became a department store on Seventh Street near Hill and then had branch stores until it merged with May Company in the 1980s. Later, the company was bought by Macy's. With much creasing, tears, and, probably, fragility, the condition is fair.
