Description
A page from "Gleason's Pictorial Drawing-Room Companion," 1852. Consisting of pages 197-198, the former has an article about Gold Rush California featuring four images. Two concern gold mining techniques, another is a head shot of an emigrant and the fourth shows a "Representation of a California Chain Gang" of prisoners, presumably in San Francisco. The reverse is part of a serial of a fictional work and there is also a poem that is dated March 1852. With some fingerprints, yellowing and soiling, the overall condition is good.
