Description

A stereoscopic photograph palm tree lined road, West Adams neighborhood, Los Angeles, 18 September 1927. The view shows the tall, closely spaced trees along the road heading toward a large building in the distance, while some homes are at the side of the thoroughfare. At left is a street sign indicating that the lane is Palm Drive and that it intersects with Adams Street (now Boulevard.) An ink inscription on the reverse reads: "Palm Drive from / Adams Street / looking towards the / Orthopaedic Hospital School / Los Angeles - Calif / Sun. Sept 18 - 1927." The road is now part of the hospital complex at Adams, Flower and the 110 Freeway and many of the trees still survive. With browning on the reverse, warping, minor soiling and edge abrasions, the overall condition is good.
