Description

A pamphlet advertising the Chiaffarelli Italian Band. Los Angeles,CA., 14 September 1905. A four page pamphlet regarding the Chiaffarelli Band and painter Paul de Longpre. The front has a photo of Manfredi Chiaffarelli. Above this reads "Something in Music." Below the image of Chiaffarelli reads "50 - Musicians - 50," and still below that reads "For Music Lovers." The second page tells that the band has a limited concert season and that they are playing at Chutes Park. Performances are outdoors, every day except Monday. The orchestra consists of 50 Italian artists. The third page tells that Chutes management is endorsing Paul de Longpre's compositions and that 6 songs, "The Tic Tac of the Mill," "Up San Juan Hill," "Souvenir of Los Angeles," "The Departure of Volunteers," "U.S. National March," and "Salute to Beautiful California" have been added to the program. The last page has a copy of a performance review from the Los Angeles Express on 14 September 1905. The review expresses how the concert, scored by De Longpre, was a triumph. There is some abrasion damage and creasing, but otherwise this object is in good condition.
