Description
A pamphlet calling on women to ration food, Los Angeles, California, ca. 1917. Inside explains that 90 percent of the food consumed passes through the hands of a woman so they need to play a part in eating and wasting less and to do this they should prepare one wheat less meal a day, one meatless meal a week, not use butter in cooking, eat food grown at home, preserve surpluses for winter use, and buy less food. There is also a food pledge to be signed by women and mailed to Mr. Hoover who will make back a banner for them to hang in their window. With wear, tears, creases, and staining, the object is in good overall condition.
