Description

A pamphlet for Grauman's Hollywood Egyptian Theatre, 1922. The item is for program information for Cecil B. DeMille's "The Ten Commandments," which included a six-minute music performance and an 18-minute live performance called "A Night in Pharoah's Palace," before the movie was shown. Cast members for the prologue and film are listed, along with curtain time. The inside panels show the courtyard to the structure and a photo of fourteen women ushers in "Egyptian" costume, with text comparing the facility to an ancient palace of the pharoahs, but also noting that it was "architectural beauty based on the ultra bizarre." With some light soiling and rubbing, the condition is good.
